About the location

Hohenzollern Castle is the ancestral seat of the House of Hohenzollern and is located atop Mount Hohenzollern, near the city of Hechingen on the edge of the Swabian Jura in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The current castle was built between 1846 and 1867 by Hohenzollern scion King Frederick William IV of Prussia.

About the photograph

The photograph has been taken after a long day of exploring the Swabian Jura. I arrived there shortly before sunset to get a good view at the castle as the place can get crowded from time to time. My approach with this photograph was to include the beautifully soft lit green trees in the foreground and to give the viewer the possibility to dive into the scenery.

About photocircle

Our vision is simple: for an exceptional photo, you need more than just a great photographer and the right moment. You also need an extraordinary subject. So it's obvious that the subject should profit from the sales as well, right? We think that's just fair, but normally that's not the case.
