CASTLES and the MILKYWAY | SWABIAN ALPS & HORNISGRINDE

In the last week I got the opportunity to do two things that I wanted to approach for quite some time. The first one was to visit the Hohenzollern Castle in the Swabian Alps. I arrived there for sunset and got the chance to capture it with quite clear surroundings..

Second location was the Hornisgrinde. Even though I have been there a lot of times I never really got the right conditions to shoot the Milkyway. The centre of the Milkyway to be visible was anounced at around 22:40. However, as soon as the sun was setting behind the River Rhine and the Vosges Mountains the first stars appeared. After a while the whole sky was beautifully covered by our galaxy - the Milkyway.
